Welcome to An Island Chef Christmas Recipe Collection 2020. According to today’s Guardian newspaper, there is a surge in Christmas baking in the UK this year. There are huge increases in sales of mixed peel, dried fruit, and marzipan. So here are some of my favourite festive recipes to help you with your Christmas cooking and drinking. Indeed if you just fancy trying to bake some mince pies or are planning a spectacular Christmas Dinner celebration, I’m sure I have a recipe for you.
I simply Love Cooking at Christmas
I have been cooking with my family since I was I child and I have posted my Aunty Mary’s recipe for Christmas Pudding. We used to bake every weekend. So if you want to create some great Christmas inspired biscuits with your children I have just the thing. You might not have time to decorate a Christmas Cake with royal icing but you can make a traditional fruitcake ready to have with a cup of tea once your Christmas Dinner is finished.
The Big Day
So you want to impress and cook the perfect Christmas dinner. Relax I have everything covered. First what about an indulgent Christmas breakfast and Eggs Royale. Then before you start why not treat yourself and your guests to a glass of sweet, spiced Mulled wine. I have some great ideas for some tasty soups and pate as starters for your Christmas Dinner, a recipe for fail-safe roast Turkey, gravy, and an awesome American-style stuffing not forgetting that most traditional of accompaniments bread sauce and some ideas for glazing a festive Christmas Ham. To accompany these you will find three recipes for potatoes for you to choose your ultimate favourite.
